I would have never asked my mother in law to leave Flor, but after she saw how Flor handled the situation and how easily it was for Flor to drop me as a client because I wasn’t happy, my mother in law thought it be best to find another hairdresser that actually valued his/her clients.Word of advice if you decide to still use Flor as your hairdresser: NEVER mention to her that you’re unhappy with how your hair turned out. To top it off- she sent my MOTHER IN LAW a text after I had left saying that “she had disappointed me and that she could leave Flor too and would understand if she got a new hairdresser” are you kidding me?!!!! So immature. I don’t know how she’s still in business. And she CLEARLY did not give one ounce of empathy about me- the paying customer. She didn’t even bother offering to lighten it up! Now I know I’m no hair expert and maybe what I asked was unrealistic as far as color, but clearly in that picture of what I wanted the layers ARE NOT SHORT. She couldn’t care less and was quick to drop me. So I sent her a text explaining how I felt and as you can see below and asked if her if i could come back so she could lighten it up more. But I was just so upset about how it turned out.
I left and gave myself the rest of the day to think it over.
Since she got so defensive, I thought that maybe right at that moment wasn’t a good time to tell her exactly how i felt. I tried to mention this to her while i was in her chair and she got so defensive and told me to “google it, the toner will lighten it up”. (Note: My hair was not super dark to begin) My hair turned out more BRUNETTE than I have ever been & had so many short layers (which was the exact opposite of what I asked for) ! She went to town on the back. I also mentioned I would like some layering as you can also see from the picture & some longer whisps or bangs in the front. I explained to Flor, that I wanted my hair to look like picture #1 and how I know that it may take some time for the highlights and that was okay. My hair was done how I wanted it except for 1 or 2 occasions here & there. I thought that we had a good relationship. Flor Hernandez works out of this salon (Flor Hair Design) and was my hairstylist for 2 years. I am leaving this review because I’m extremely disappointed in how I was treated & I want any future/potential clients to be aware.
